My musical journey started in primary school where I played  recorder (didn't everyone ?).  I loved my recorder. Not only did I love the beautiful sound, I really enjoyed being part of a larger ensemble. For me, that is the heart of music making (I am still in touch with that lovely recorder teacher). In high school, a whole new world opened up when I discovered the Bassoon!!

The instrument that shaped my life :)

After cherishing every moment of studies at Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama) a life as an educator and performer beckoned. Over many years I have combined instrumental and class music teaching with papping away on my Bassoon - above and below the orchestral pit.

Today, I sail the seas and drive the glens sharing ukulele love and giving music talks as a guest music lecturer
